EDITOR'S NOTE

Less distracting, most visual. The ultimate e-commerce tool. For now.

If you have a business but you don’t have an Instagram account, you need to think this over.

Should you have a strategy? Probably. Do you need one? Not necessarily. What you need is patience. You need to patiently earn the attention of your people. And you need to know who your people are more than you need a strategy.

Do you need to buy followers? Depends on what you need Instagram for. Followers won't convert if they aren't your people, the people you're trying to reach. They won't engage with you, they won't see your message, they're junk. Do you need to strategically gain followers in order to attract the attention of your people, as a starting point? It's an option but it's not a guarantee and I don't recommend it. People do it all the time, but it's the same people who need to do so much extra work later to regain control of their accounts.

Instagram is a godsend for business, think user-generated content, fast, direct, and truthful-like. People trust people, customers trust customers. Think storytelling. Think the intimacy of Instagram stories, the biggest selling tool within the Instagram App. It's like having the possibility to offer a mini-webinar in an instance. Automation doesn't work that good because you need to be there to nurture and to be real. It's like we're moving away from websites and well-crafted messages. A real-time Instagram story (what? a picture, a 10sec video?) with a link that takes your prospect clients directly to your checkout page. They've seen your product, they trust in the product because they trust in you, and they want a hassle-free buying experience. And so...Instagram Stories.

Yes, selling takes time.
